Chip Heaven! Just opened on National Potato Chip Day. Where to go for your chip fix.
SAUGATUCK, Mich. (WZZM) -- American's consume more than one billion pounds of potato chips every year. Those salty snacks are so popular a Saugatuck store is opening on this occasion.
"It's All That and a Bag of Chips!" That's the name of the store. And what better day to open than on National Potato Chip Day.
This salty snack came about by accident after a chef tried to get back at his boss for sending the potatoes back to the kitchen. He demanded the chips be thinner so he fried them to mock his manager--and chips were born.
But the chips at All That and Bag of Chips are no mistake. You won't find Lays or Fritos at this store. They search out rare chips you can't buy anywhere else in the state. Chips by Larry the Cable Guy, fried jalapenos, even healthy chips if there is such a thing.

Jalapenos
We use the freshest jalapenos available, shipped daily from Texas and New Mexico and North Carolina. Our jalapeno Chips are dusted with just the right amount of flavor to enhance the jalapeno, which gives it a nice finish to the chip. Once again there are no potatoes used in Deanos Jalapeno Chips. The jalapeno chips are at what "we" call a medium heat level, although each batch is a little different depending on mother nature.
Unique
jalapenos are a great snack as well as a great addition to a salad or sandwich. A great crispy coating for baked salmon or chicken. A great snack for watching the game with your favorite beverage. Looking for something new for Cinco De Mayo? Talk about chips' n' dip. These are a one of a kind snack food and as far as we know nobody but Deanos makes a crispy pepper chip snack food . There was a lot of trial and error, but everyone seemed to think we were on to something. And thus Deano's Jalapenos was born. As they say "there has to be a better way", we think this is it!
Deano's Backstory
These patent-pending chips are the brainchild of Doehne “Deano” Duckworth, owner of The Cactus Café in Stowe, Vermont. As jalapeno-flavored potato chips became more popular on the market, Duckworth thought, why not skip the potato part and make chips out of the jalapenos themselves?
